Building off 17 years of program success, BAE Systems in May 2009 submitted its proposal to manufacture the Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV) for the U.S. Army as part of its “rebuy” program from 2010 to 2014. BAE Systems was notified by the Army on Aug. 28 that it was not selected for the rebuy program. BAE Systems filed a formal protest with the U.S. Government Accountability Office on Sept. 4, asking the agency to review the Army’s decision to award the contract to a competitor. BAE Systems filed two supplemental protests to the GAO after finding additional concerns with the source selection process during the FMTV rebuy competition. The first was filed Sept. 11 and the second was filed Oct. 16. The GAO has reviewed BAE Systems’ protest, and their findings can be viewed here. BAE Systems’ response to the Dec. 14, 2009 GAO findings can be found here.
